UCLA, Duke among leaders for 3-star TE

West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade tight end Logan Paulsen is one of the top players from the Golden State this year and the 6-foot-4, 219-pounder will be taking his first official visit this weekend.
"My UCLA visit is this weekend and I'm trying to get one set up with Duke," Paulsen said. "That's kind of where it is right now. This is Duke's big recruiting weekend so I was going to try and maybe go down Sunday after the UCLA visit was over, but that may be difficult. It may not happen. I'm just trying to get something set up with them so I can see the campus."
Paulsen is rated as the No. 16 tight end prospect by and the No. 36 overall prospect in California.
"Right now my favorite school is probably UCLA," Paulsen said. "It's closely followed by Duke. I'm trying to learn as much as possible about those two schools right now."
Here's what Paulsen said he liked about his top two schools:
UCLA: "It's got great academics. It's a football program that's on the rise. I like the coaches. I had a friend that went there, Marcus Everett. It's a good environment for me and it's kind of what I"m looking for."
Duke: "Obviously it has great academics. They're in a very good division and it would be an opportunity for me to play against some really good competition. That would be an exciting aspect of me going to Duke. The coaches are extremely nice. I have good relationships with my recruiting coach. They're all really nice guys."
A few more schools are still in the mix though.
"UCLA and Duke are probably my top two schools, but I'm interested to see what's going to happen at Stanford with the coaching situation," Paulsen said. "Maybe Oregon. That's another possibility. That's kind of where I stand right now."
