Vaas has plenty of successful experience internationally as well. He head coached the Berlin Thunder to World Bowl Championships in 2001 and 2002 and also has Canadian Football League coaching experience.
He has also had assistant coaching experience at Allegheny College and the University of New Hampshire, with head coaching stops at Allegheny (1986-1989) and Holy Cross (1992-1995).
According to a source, Vaas began his work on the Duke staff Wednesday of this week.
