Kris Humphries commits to Duke

The Blue Devils have earned their first commitment from the class of 2003 with the verbal of top 20 junior Kris Humphries.
After taking an official visit to Duke last weekend the 6'9, 228lbs combo forward had seen all he needed of the Blue Devil program and informed the coaches at all three schools last night as we speculated he would in our premium story.

The addition of Humphries, who is ranked as the #15 junior by Prepstars, means the Blue Devils can now concentrate their full efforts on fellow juniors Luol Deng and Ndudi Ebi.
According to Kris' father William it was the way in which Coach K handled the family that sold his son. "They [Duke staff] were just really down to earth with us, and we really liked that approach. Kris was sold on Duke and we saw no reason to wait [to commit]."
Even though the decision came easily to Humphries, calling to inform the coaches at Minnesota and Kansas didn't.
"He really agonized over that," said William, "Roy Williams put on a great presentation, but in the end he just felt he could be the kind of player he wanted to be at Duke."
Note: We will have much more on Humphries in our first installment of the War Room tomorrow including some candid quotes from all parties.
