Duke falls short in valiant effort

Ronnie McGill's three yard touchdown run 1:38 remaining put North Carolina over the top in a 24-21 victory against Duke today.
It was everything a rivalry game should be, as the Tar Heels and Devils battled toe-to-toe for 60 minutes at UNC's Kenan Stadium.

Duke took the lead with 5:02 to play when Ronnie Drummer scored on a 24-yard reverse for the first touchdown of the second half for either team.
However, the Blue Devils couldn't come up with a game clinching stop on UNC's following possession that ended with McGill touchdown.
Duke's final chance evaporated when Mike Schneider threw an interception with just over a minute to play in the contest.
The loss closes Duke's season at 1-10.
Devils Illustrated will have complete coverage of today's game soon.
