The only thing that dampened the excitement of Duke's 76-52 win over Maryland Wednesday night was seeing DeMarcus Nelson back in a protective boot and out of the game.
However, after further evaluation Thursday, Nelson's injury was deemed to be a bone bruise not related to his previous ankle fracture suffered against Drexel.
Nelson played 10 minutes before the injury occurred against the Terrapins when he was called for a charging foul in the last minute of the first half. In those 10 minutes, he scored six points and had four steals.
Nelson likely will not play in Saturday's game at Clemson and is being treated day-to-day.
