Marquette hires Wojo

Duke associate head basketball coach Steve Wojciechowski has accepted the head position at Marquette, replacing Buzz Williams, who recently departed for Virginia Tech, sources have told Devils Illustrated.
Wojciechowski, who has spent all but one year in since his graduation from Duke in 1998 as part of the program, becomes the second Duke assistant in as many years to leave for a head coaching position.

Wojciechowski has served as Duke's associate head coach since 2008 and has worked with both the team's big men as well as guards.
He has coached the likes of Carlos Boozer, Elton Brand, Shane Battier, Kyle Singler, Josh McRoberts, Ryan Kelly, and Mason Plumlee, among others. During his playing days at Duke, Wojciechowski served as team captain and posted a career record of 74-26.
During his coaching career at Duke, Wojo helped lead the program to a 411-86 record, winning nine ACC Tournament championships, five regular season championships and two national titles.
