Lloyd commits to Duke

Southern Alamance athlete Johnathan Lloyd committed to Duke over the weekend giving the Blue Devils one of their biggest wins in recent memory.
The commitment is especially big because Lloyd is a highly-regarded in-state recruit with offers from the other schools on Tobacco Road in addition to Florida, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and others.

Ranked the No. 20 athlete in the nation and the No. 15 prospect in North Carolina, Lloyd is a versatile athlete that could play wide receiver for the Blue Devils.
His forty time is the only part of his game that doesn't jump off the screen at you, but Lloyd is an exceptional and a natural athlete, which helps explain his offer list.
It was apparent for much of Lloyd's recruitment that his attention was focused on mostly the in-state schools, though he did give attention to others, but it was rarely ever apparent that he was leaning clearly in any one direction.
As recently as last month Lloyd was still picking up big offers, from Miami for instance.
Lloyd is commitment No. 10 for the Blue Devils. He was not immediately available for comment but Devils Illustrated will speak with him soon.
