Duke lands Florida safety

On the heels of picking up Atlanta athlete Deon Jackson, Duke went down to Florida and picked up a solid prospect on the defensive side of the ball.

Delray Beach (Florida) Atlantic safety Marquis Waters pledged to the Blue Devils today, giving Duke its third prospect overall from the state of Florida and fifth defensive back in the 2017 class.

The 6-foot, 193-pounder is billed by Rivals.com as a 5.5 three-star. During the recruiting process, he drew offers from Cal, FAU, Iowa State, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, NC State, Purdue, Rutgers, Temple, UCF, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, and Wisconsin, among others.
