Duke lands Florida receiver
Duke football made a statement this past season earning its way into the ACC Championship game and a spot in the Chick-fil-A Bowl in Atlanta, Ga.
The Blue Devils have also been making their presence felt on the recruiting trail, picking up some of the region's top prospects with the likes of Nicodem Pierre, Alonzo Saxton and Jonathan Lloyd, among others choosing to play their college football in Durham.
Monday night, the Blue Devils made yet another statement, picking up a commitment from Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Cardinal Gibbons wide receiver Trevon Lee.
"I'm going to be spending the next four years of my life at Duke University," Lee said on local radio.
The high three-star prospect chose Duke over offers from Stanford, Nebraska, California, Mississippi and Vanderbilt.
In addition to the other five finalists, Lee had numerous high profile programs offer him a scholarship, including the likes of Auburn, Arkansas, Clemson, Missouri, Oregon, South Carolina, Southern Cal, West Virginia, Wisconsin, NC State, Mississippi State and a host of others.
Lee, who is known for his explosive speed and game-breaking abilities, ranks as the nation's No. 54-rated receiver. He is listed as the talent-rich state of Florida's No. 52 overall prospect.
He made is official visit to Duke on Jan. 17 and left impressed enough to choose the Blue Devils.
