Duke rips FIU in opener

Devils Illustrated DURHAM, N.C. - Duke football opened the 2012 season with an impressive 46-26 romp of Florida International, giving head coach David Cutcliffe a 3-2 mark in season openers while with the Blue Devils.
The Blue Devils used a 30-point second quarter to create a 37-14 cushion going into halftime, marking the highest scoring half and quarter of football for Duke since the 1999 season. The explosive performance came after Duke battled the Panthers nose-to-nose through the first 15 minutes of action, as the contest looked as it would be close throughout.
