USC nabs 2013 commit
The USC Trojans not only destroyed city rival UCLA over the weekend but they also landed one of the top prospects in the country for the class of 2013 along the defensive line.
"I'm a Trojan," said 6-foot-3, 280-pound defensive end Kenny Bigelow from Bear (Del.) Red Lion Christian Academy. "I loved it out there on my visit, it was amazing. The atmosphere was great, the coaches were cool and I liked the players. Everything about it blew me away, but coach Orgeron was really the key."
Bigelow, who also has early offers from the likes of Auburn, Oklahoma, Clemson, Oregon, Penn State and others, decided after the trip that he knew L.A. would be his future home.
"Coach Orgeron is so enthusiastic and high energy and positive, he reminds me of my coach in high school (Dwayne Thomas," he said. "He's a great defensive line coach, USC could be the best team in the country right now and they need defensive linemen so I can step in and play early there. Everything was perfect."
Bigelow joins class of 2015 teammate David Sills as a commitment to Lane Kiffen.
"Coach Kiffen is great as well," he said. "Our players have obviously known about him since he offered David and he committed and what he's doing out there at USC is great. Knowing David will be following me out there is great, it just makes things easier."
Bigelow was offered on his west coast trip by both UCLA and USC but opted for what he saw out of the Trojans.
"The team is great and it's where I want to spend my college years," he said. "I talked to coach Orgeron on the phone and he was pumped when I committed. He was screaming and going crazy, I love that. He has a great relationship with his players."
Bigelow is one of the top players in the country for 2013 and has already accepted an invitation to play in the 203 U.S. Army All American Bowl.
