Pouncey plans to lead with words, actions
One question repeatedly popped up when Florida football players met with the media Thursday.
With Tim Tebow and Brandon Spikes gone, who would be the team's vocal leader
Quite often, senior center Mike Pouncey was the player whose name was mentioned.
"He," offensive guard Carl Johnson said, "doesn't even begin to think of losing."
It is easy to understand why.
Dating back to high school, Pouncey has played on one ultra-successful team after the other. During his three seasons at Florida, during which time he has started 32 games (including every game the past two years), the Gators are 35-6. Before that, he was part of a Lakeland (Fla.) program that won 45 straight games, three consecutive Class 5A state titles and two straight USA Today national championships.
